USC Football Star Leaves Program

Some might think it’s all rainbows and sunshine in Southern California, but today the USC football program was dealt some dark clouds as the 6-foot-8, 330-pound offensive lineman Seantrel Henderson was released from his letter of content.  Seantrel asked for the release after the NCAA handed down a two-year bowl ban and reduction in scholarships thanks to the Reggie Bush debacle that ensued back in 2005.  It’s no wonder why former coach Pete Carroll darted to the Seattle Seahawks when he did…….lucky him!

College football experts consider Seantrel the best prospect in the nation in the 2010 class and right now the three schools he is considering are Miami, Ohio State and a possible return to USC.  I don’t at all blame Seantrel for wanting out of USC especially with the next two seasons counting for as much as a bag of horse manure.   How in the world do the Trojans expect to recruit and keep top-level talent when the program is always under scrutiny or sanctions?   It seems like the president of the school needs to do a complete overhaul of all athletic personnel and start from scratch as these problems are not only arising in the football program, but the basketball one as well.  The Mole thinks Mr. Henderson would look damn good in a Miami Hurricane’s jersey, but do what’s best for you young fella!
